The Sound of Music, a beloved musical brimming with romance and resilience, was crafted by the team of Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II. Set in Salzburg, Austria, on the eve of World War II, the story follows Maria Rainer, a postulant who leaves the abbey to become a governess for the seven children of Captain Georg von Trapp, a widower with strict disciplinary methods. Maria's warmth and love of music gradually transform the household, bringing joy back into their lives. As tensions rise in Europe, Maria and the Captain find themselves falling in love, but their happiness is threatened by the Nazi presence in Austria.

The Sound of Music became a cultural phenomenon, winning five Tony Awards, including Best Musical. Its enduring popularity is a testament to its timeless themes of love, family, and the power of music in the face of adversity. The iconic songs like "Do-Re-Mi," "My Favorite Things," and "Climb Every Mountain" continue to resonate with audiences of all ages.
