Bizet's Carmen, originally recorded in October 2025, airs on WRR 101.1 FM as part of the station's Concert Hall program on September 14, 2026. This American premiere production by French director Romain Gilbert recreates the original 1875 Paris staging, offering listeners a rare chance to experience Carmen as it was first performed. Grammy-winning mezzo-soprano Marina Viotti and tenor Saimir Pirgu star in the title roles, with Teresa Perrotta and Gihoon Kim as Micaëla and Escamillo, under the baton of Emmanuel Villaume leading The Dallas Opera Orchestra and Chorus.
