Mesquite Community Theatre is in search of some southern dames to audition for its upcoming performance of "Belles" on Mon. & Tue., Jun. 8-9 at the Mesquite Arts Center (MAC) Black Box Theatre, located at 1527 N. Galloway, Mesquite, Texas. Callbacks will be held on Wed., Jun. 10 at 7 pm if necessary.

Six (6) roles are being cast for women in their late 20s (these are "character ages" only) and auditions will be cold readings from the script. Audition sides will be provided. Bring a current H/R if available. If you don't have one, you can still audition.

Written by Mark Dunn and directed by Lois Sheeler, "Belles" is a comedy that takes place over two acts and 45 phone calls between six sisters who all grew up in Memphis, Tennessee.

Peggy, the only remaining sibling to live in their childhood city, is the primary caretaker of the women's mother, with the others scattered across the country with lives of their own. When Peggy attempts to call her sisters to let them know of their mother's hospitalization due to eating some bad tuna fish, a series of phone calls shows the true nature of the women's relationship with each other.

Humor, conflicts and the unique bonds that exist between these strong-willed and vibrant women are but one of qualities that make "Belles" a true gem of an acting experience!

Performances being held Aug. 7-9, 14-16, & 20-22 at the Mesquite Arts Center Black Box Theatre.
