For all of you William Shakespeare junkies (I belong to that club), Trinity Shakespeare Festival of Fort Worth is making its debut with rotating performances of two Shakespeare classics, Twelfth Night or What You Will and Romeo and Juliet.

Twelfth Night or What You Will is Shakespeare's comic masterpiece of unexpected love and mistaken identity. This comedy begins with shipwrecked twins off the coast of the kingdom of Illyria. It ends with love, reconciliation, reunion and marriage. In between are some of the most humorous and romantic episodes in Shakespeare's canon. Twelfth Night is Shakespeare's most perfect comedy.

The preview performance of Twelfth Night is Tue., Jun. 9. Opening night is Thu., Jun. 11. Performances will be rotated with performances of Romeo and Juliet on Jun. 11-28.   All performances of Twelfth Night will take place at the Jerita Foley Buschman Theatre on the campus of Texas Christian University (TCU).

The show runs approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes with one intermission. Curtain is 7:30 pm for evening performances and 2:30 pm for matinees.

Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet is among the most enduring love stories in the Western canon.  The play follows "a pair of star-crossed lovers" from their first shy glances, to an unquenchable love, to their final heartrending kiss. Caught between "an ancient grudge", their feuding families, Romeo and Juliet unknowingly race toward a final confrontation with fate - "for never was a story of more woe than this of Juliet and her Romeo".

The preview performance of Romeo and Juliet is Wed., Jun. 10. Opening night is Fri. Jun. 12. Performances will be rotated with performances of Twelfth Night on Jun. 12- 28.   All performances of Romeo and Juliet will also take place on the TCU campus at the Marlene and Spencer Hays Theatre.

The show runs approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes with one intermission. Curtain is 7:30 pm for evening performances and 2:30 pm for matinees.  This festival is made possible in part by a Vision in Action grant from Texas Christian University.
