Ten Tenors Bring POPERA POWER To Bass Hall, Closes 2/27

By:

Performing Arts Fort Worth proudly welcomes acclaimed vocal ensemble The Ten Tenors to Bass Performance Hall.  Their final performance will be on Feb. 27, 2011, as part of Performing Arts Fort Worth's 2010-2011 Broadway at the Bass series. Tickets are $22-$60.50 and are on sale NOW!

Recently featured on Oprah Winfrey's Ultimate Australian Adventure, The Ten Tenors are an Australian, multi-platinum vocal group whose musical repertoire ranges from pop to opera - hence, the outfit's often-used musical description: "popera." Fans will hear opera staples such as "Vesti la giubba" from Pagliacci, as well as Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody."

The Tenors' current tour, called "The Power of Ten," was mounted to support its eighth album, Nostalgica.
"This album and the show are made particularly special by the fact that the repertoire was actually chosen by our fans," says group member Boyd Owen. "We constantly receive mountains of song requests from all over the world."
Those requests started coming in shortly after the ensemble formed in 1995. Many of the members knew one another from college; initially, this is where the group found success, in colleges and clubs. After a guest appearance at the Eurovision Grand Prix in Kiel, Germany - seen by more than 28 million television viewers - the group's career skyrocketed. To date, The Ten Tenors have performed to more than 3.3 million fans on seven continents; they have four gold albums.

The group is made up of Boyd Owen, Keane Fletcher, Dion Molinas, Jordan S. Pollard, Benjamin Clark, Graham Foote, Stewart Morris, Ben Stephens, Dominic Smith and Thomas David Birch.
