Generations of Musicians Come Together for Side-By-Side Performance at Bass Performance Hall Fort Worth Youth Orchestra (FWYO) and Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra (FWSO) will share the Bass Performance Hall stage during the Annual Side-by-Side Concert on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 2:00 p.m.-- pairing the acclaimed Symphony performers and the professionally-trained musicians of the Youth Orchestra. FWYO alumnus and newly-appointed Associate Conductor of FWSO Alejandro Gómez Guillén will conduct the impressive performance showcasing the acclaimed classic, Antonín Dvorâk's Symphony No. 9 (from the New World).

The Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra is an integral part of the impressive classical music community that makes Fort Worth the city of Cowboys and Culture. The Side-by-Side concert serves as an opportunity for FWYO students to learn from esteemed symphony performers at the highest level of artistic excellence. By performing and practicing with the students, FWSO imbues the next generation with the tools to further the future of classical arts.

Join FWYO before and after the concert for Generations with FWYO. Tickets to this special event include the opportunity to lunch with three generations of violinists and conductors. Guest will mingle with Some of North Texas' most influential conductors including John Giordano, Germán Gutiérrez, and FWYO alumni Alejandro Gómez Guillén, experience a performance by a Suzuki Program student, and hear from FWYO alumni and emeritus Associate Concertmaster of the National Symphony Orchestra Elizabeth Adkins.   • 12:30 p.m. - Guests enjoy a lite lunch, performances from 3 Generations of Violinists and Suzuki Program student, followed by a talk with FWYO Alumni and emeritus Associate Concertmaster of the National Symphony Orchestra Elizabeth Adkins.

  • Experience Side-By-Side Concert with FWSO in a Box Seat

  • 3:00 p.m. - Guests enjoy champagne and desserts and performances from 3 Generations of Conductors including John Giordano, Germán Gutiérrez, and FWYO alumni and newly appointed FWSO Associate Conductor Alejandro Gómez Guillén

About the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra

Since 1912, Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra has educated, entertained and enhanced the cultural life of Cowtown. The Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra performs a broad range of symphonic and pops concerts from August through May. In addition to its own concert series, the Orchestra also collaborates with the Texas Ballet Theater, Fort Worth Opera, Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, Southwestern Seminary Master Chorale, and the Children's Education Program of Bass Performance Hall. About the Youth Orchestra:

During its 53-year history, the Youth Orchestra has won local, national, and international recognition as one of the finest youth orchestra programs in the United States. The Orchestra's accomplishments include concert tours in Europe, Mexico, Canada, and the Far East, as well as music festivals in Switzerland and Washington DC, and numerous other concert appearances across Texas and the Southwest. With over 2,500 alumni, the organization's impact can be felt throughout the region in both musical and non-musical fields.
