Fort Worth Youth Orchestra Is Celebrating The Season and Inspiring Classical Music Enthusiasts All Over North Texas ImageFort Worth Youth Orchestra (FWYO) invites the community to experience the sounds, sights, and tastes of the holiday season as FWYO celebrates cheer during the 2017 Holiday Concert held at 3:00 p.m. in two parts on December 10, 2017. FWYO's interactive event will feature seasonal favorites performed by the Youth Orchestra, Philharmonic Orchestra, String Orchestra and Junior String Orchestra. Special appearances will be made by the Mixed Choral Ensemble from the Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts and the Fort Worth ISD's Childrens' Honor Choir.

The FWYO's Holiday Concert is the perfect opportunity to introduce children to instrumental music and build an admiration for the rich arts and culture scene in Fort Worth. This not-to-be-missed concert event has something for the whole family and will leave you dreaming of dancing sugar plums and falling snowflakes.

Part One:

The sounds of the holidays begin at 3PM with performances by the the Junior String Orchestra and the Philharmonic Orchestra featuring the FWISD's Children's Honor Choir and a family Holiday Sing-a-Long. At 3:30PM in the auditorium, audience members will enjoy a performance by the new FWYO Brass Ensemble.

Entr'acte:

During the Entr'acte from 4 PM to 5 PM, audience members will indulge in the sights of the season as they enjoy the FWYO Parents' Guild Annual Holiday Auction featuring unique holiday gifts. Smells of sugar cookies and cinnamon will fill the air of the lobby as music enthusiasts enjoy the first ever Parents' Guild Holiday Café, offering coffees and teas with yummy Holiday themed foods to enjoy while waiting for Part Two

to begin! In addition, Holiday Music will abound in the main Lobby, side Lobby and Holiday Café performed by the FWYO's Chamber groups and solo musicians. At 3:30 p.m. in the auditorium, audience members will enjoy the first performance by the new FWYO Brass Ensemble.

Part Two:

The concert will pick back up at 5 PM with performances by the Junior String Orchestra and the Youth Orchestra featuring FWAFA's Mixed Choral Ensemble and a family Holiday Sing-a-Long.

During its 53-year history, the Youth Orchestra has won local, national, and international recognition as one of the finest youth orchestra programs in the United States. The Orchestra's accomplishments include concert tours in Europe, Mexico, Canada, and the Far East, as well as music festivals in Switzerland and Washington DC, and numerous other concert appearances across Texas and the Southwest. With over 2,500 alumni, the organization's impact can be felt throughout the region in both musical and non-musical fields.
