Denton Community Theatre presents SMART PRETTY FUNNY
Denton Community Theatre (DCT) is thrilled to present Smart Pretty Funny by Kathleen Anderson Culebro, directed by Mandy Rausch. It is the first show of our 2017-2018 POINTBank Black Box Season. In this intimate venue, DCT is able to offer lesser known, or more experimental theatrical works than on the main stage. This gem of a script has only been produced once before and was written by the founding artistic director of Amphibian Stage Productions in Fort Worth. Director Rausch has assembled a talented group to bring this experience to the Denton stage.
People say there's someone for everyone, but when fate sends a letter to everyone on Earth revealing their true love, Meg is left alone without a match. Confused and hurt while her boyfriend flies across the world to meet his new love, she turns to her family and finds that she may just be better off without a soul mate. A provocative comedy about love, loneliness, motherhood, and the idea that life never turns out the way you planned.
Performances are September 29, 30 at 7:30 pm and October 1 at 2:00 pm at DCT's POINTBank Black Box Theatre located at 318 E. Hickory, Denton. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased through The Campus Theatre Box Office Monday through Friday from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. To purchase by phone, please call 940-382-1915. Tickets are also available online at dentoncommunitytheatre.com.
