Casa Manana Opens Reid Cabaret Theatre

Casa Mañana proudly announces the opening of the Reid Cabaret Theatre and new administrative offices. A ribbon cutting ceremony is set for 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 10, 2018. In attendance will be Casa Manana board members, supporters, council members, key city staff and the Honorable Betsy Price, Mayor of Fort Worth.

"We're thrilled to see Fort Worth's oldest theatrical organization, Casa Mañana, expand with the new Reid Cabaret performance space. Casa Mañana is a staple in Fort Worth's Cultural District and an anchor for our greater arts community. The City of Fort Worth is honored to play a role in Casa's continued growth."

- Mayor Betsy Price, City of Fort Worth

The new Reid Cabaret Theatre is 70-seat venue located within Casa Mañana with cabaret-style seating and a full bar. Wally Jones, President & Executive Producer describes the experience "like stumbling into the past, watching Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett or Liza Minelli at your favorite club. With soothing earth tone walls, black and white photos, elegant seating and excellent sound, you won't want to leave." The venue will also serve as an educational space for Casa Mañana's Performing Arts Conservatory and Producers Club.

The cabaret theatre is named for The Family of Molly and Rusty Reid. "Having our new cabaret theatre named after the Reid family is only fitting," says Jones. "The Reid's have been a part of Casa Mañana for many years, long before I joined up in 2009. [Their daughter] Sainty grew up here and The Family has been supporting Casa for years. We are honored and thrilled to have such a prominent and philanthropic family permanently affixed to the Casa Manana name."

The Grand Opening will be February 8-10 with performances by Michael Cunio. After performing in the Tony Award hits Jersey Boys and Hairspray and with the critically-acclaimed vocal group Under the Streetlamp, Cunio set off on a booming solo career. Cunio's vocal range is in a class by itself, whether singing classics by Frank Sinatra and James Brown or rocking out to Aerosmith's "Dream On." His debut album, Back Alley Soul, pays tribute to those inspiring artists, featuring songs like "It's a Man's, Man's, Man's World" and "I Just Wanna Make Love to You." Tickets are already sold out.

Also included in the project is the addition of 2100 square feet of new administrative office space and a permanent 1500 square foot storage space, designed by Bennett, Benner Partners and contracted by Trelaine Mapp Source Building Group Inc. The project is partially funded by the City of Fort Worth with the balance raised by Casa Mañana through private donations.
