Buddy Holly Is Back on Top at Casa Manana

Casa Mañana opens its 2019-20, presented by Frank Kent Cadillac, with the world's hottest rock-n-roll musical, Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story. The show runs September 7-15, 2019. Tickets are on sale now.

Back by popular demand! Don your black-rimmed glasses and celebrate Buddy Holly's meteoric rise to fame and the top of the record charts with the "World's Most Successful Rock Musical." Set during the golden days of rock 'n' roll, Buddy Holly will have you dancing in the aisles to rousing hits such as "Peggy Sue," "That'll Be the Day" and "Rave On." The last half of the show reenacts his last night on earth 60 years ago - the concert at the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, Iowa, complete with the moves of Ritchie Valens and the Big Bopper. This show is suitable for most audiences.

Andy Christopher stars as "Buddy Holly" with Joe Cosmo Cogen as "Jerry Allison" and Ben Brown as "Joe Mauldin." Matt Allen is "Hipockets Duncan," Cheryl Allison is "Vi Petty," Addie Morales is "Maria Elena," Steve Gagliastro is "Norm Petty," Jayson Elliot is "Big Bopper" and Taylor Rodriguez is "Ritchie Valens." Troy Valjean Rucker, Brian Mathis, David Corris, Trisha Jeffery, Cameron Cobb, Morgan Haney and Devin Berg complete the cast.

Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story is directed and choreographed by Parker Esse. Vonda K. Bowling serves as music director. Additional creative members include Edward Morris as scenic designer, John Bartenstein as lighting designer, Jonathan Parke as sound designer, Tammy Spencer as costume designer and Cat Petty-Rogers as hair and makeup designer.

Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story opens on Buddy Holly's birthday. Patrons with tickets for opening night, September 7 at 8 p.m., are invited at no extra charge to attend Buddy Bash, held in the Claudia Stepp Grand Lobby beginning at 7 p.m.

Ticket prices start at $29 and may be purchased by calling Ticketmaster at 800-982-2787 or by visiting www.casamanana.org. Tickets are also available at the Casa Mañana Theatre Box Office, 3101 West Lancaster Avenue in Fort Worth.

Performance dates and times are as follows: Saturday, September 7 at 2 p.m. and at 8 p.m., Sunday, September 8 at 2 p.m., Tuesday, September 10 at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, September 11 at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, September 12 at 7:30 p.m., Friday, September 13 at 8 p.m., Saturday, September 14 at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.; and Sunday September 15 at 2 p.m.
