Amphibian Stage Productions is proud to continue its "‘Phibs at the Modern" series with a staged reading of Three Hotels by Jon Robin Baitz. Sharon Benge directs Michael Muller and Amber Devlin in this controversial work on September 13 at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth.

About the Play
Three Hotels presents the story of an American businessman and his wife who risk everything to further his career abroad with a multinational corporation. Once idealistic young members of the Peace Corps, Mr. and Mrs. Hoyle now find themselves betraying the principals of their youth in the service of capitalism. When success is on the line, where do idealism, morality, and family fit in, and what is this couple willing to sacrifice? In this emotionally charged piece, three decisive moments bring Hoyle and his wife face to face with the price of ambition.

Playwright Jon Robin Baitz received the Humanitas Prize for Three Hotels when it aired on PBS in 1991. Baitz, a Pulitzer finalist, as well as a Guggenheim and National Endowment for the Arts fellow, says of his work, "I think what I write about is betrayal... a rumination on betrayal of one's self, one's hopes; and finally, it is the fervent prayer that there be something in this wrecked world to salvage."

Three Hotels will be presented in Fort Worth on September 13, 2010 at 7 PM. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors, and $5 for students. For tickets and more information, theatergoers can call 817-923-3012, visit www.amphibianproductions.org, or write to boxoffice@amphibianproductions.org. The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth is located at 3200 Darnell St., Fort Worth, TX 76107.

About Amphibian Stage Productions
Amphibian Stage Productions is a non-profit theatre company founded in 2000 by three alumni of TCU's Department of Theatre who strive to produce innovative and engaging works of theatre that challenge the way we see the world around us. Now in its eleventh season, Amphibian has produced numerous groundbreaking and challenging plays (some regional premieres, others US or world premieres) that foster a deeper understanding of ourselves as members of the global community. The company is widely recognized for its stylistically and thematically varied scripts.
Committed to nurturing young and diverse audiences, Amphibian has developed a strong internship program, a summer acting workshop for teens, and a dynamic outreach project, Jumbies Fort Worth!, that is steadily increasing the company's visibility and following. The group travels to schools and community centers, performing and spreading a message of multicultural collaboration and tolerance.

In addition, actors visit schools to lead acting workshops and talkback sessions with students. The company actively reaches out to young people and strives to foster a new generation of audience members by offering students very low cost or free tickets to all performances.
