Amphibian Sets Second Staged Reading of 2015

Amphibian Stage Productions presents the second installment of its newly-formatted staged reading series. This year the series will host three playwrights in residence and exclusively feature unpublished works. Not Medea is written by award-winning Austin playwright Allison Gregory and will be directed by Gretchen Corbett.

Patrick Bynane, Alexandra Lawrence and Brenda Withers will star in this play, running Sunday, April 12 and Monday, April 13 at Amphibian's theater at 120 S. Main Street. All three actors return as audience favorites to the Amphibian stage for Not Medea.

What if the show you came to see is not the show you need to see? When a working mother escapes to the sanctuary of the theatre and encounters a play she desperately doesn't want to see, she manipulates the show - and the audience - and leads them reluctantly, undependably, humorously into her own very private story. Through a synthesis of myth, magic, and real world, Not Medea is a fierce slap-down about love, lust, parenthood, and forgiveness.

Not Medea will be performed on Sunday, April 12 at 2pm and on Monday, April 13 at 7pm at Amphibian Stage Productions.

Tickets for Not Medea are $17 for adults, $12 for seniors, and $7 for students.
