Alley Theatre's 2009 Theater District Open House To Take Place 8/30

The 2009 Theater District Open House at Alley Theatre is set to take place on Sunday, August 30 from 12:00pm - 4:00pm. Activities include Back-Alley Garage Sale, Stage Combat Demonstrations and Backstage Tours.
Brian Byrnes (Alley's Cyrano de Bergerac, Othello, The Pillowman) will hold stage combat demonstrations on the Hubbard Stage.Also this year, the Alley Theatre has cleaned out its closets and will be selling costumes and props from past Alley Theatre productions at the Back-Alley Garage Sale. School theatre departments and other theatres have been invited to a private pre-sale on Saturday, August 29 from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM. If you would like to take photos or video of the pre-sale, please call for an appointment. Other Alley activities at Theater District Open House include backstage tours, theatre games with the Young Performers Studio, face painting, a costume trunk and more.The annual Theater District Open House provides an opportunity for the public to sample Houston's downtown arts organizations. An event that Houstonians look forward to at the beginning of each fall, this free, family-friendly event takes place in the heart of the Theater District.
