42ND STREET Company Gives Back to Dallas Community

By:

This week, Dallas became the stage for a tragic sniper attack as Dallas police officers were gunned down while supporting a local peaceful protest. Just a few miles down the road, the touring company of 42ND STREET was onstage at the Music Hall at Fair Park, where they are just concluding their two-week visit before performing a one-week run at Fort Worth's Bass Performance Hall. As a response to the Dallas attack, as well as the other high-profile shootings over the last month, the cast decided to give something back to the community who has been coming out in full force to support them.

Before their Friday evening performance, members of the company spent their day working with Dallas community members at The Bridge Homeless Shelter. "We served 394 meals to some of the homeless and at-risk individuals here in Dallas," cast member and organizer Matthew Alexander said. "It was an experience I'll never forget."

On Behalf of the Dallas community, BroadwayWorld extends sincere thanks to the company of 42nd STREET for their thoughtful actions.
