Single Tickets & Subscriptions For South Coast Rep's 50th Season Now On Sale

Segerstrom Center's 22nd annual Summer at the Center (SATC) program continues now through August 3. This award-winning program utilizes the arts to inspire, motivate and provide high-risk and underserved youths with opportunities to interact in positive ways with their peers. A musical theater format employed by professional teaching artists creates a fun and creative environment that also encourages productive dialogue and introspection. The two-week program concludes with the students performing a Broadway revue-style show in Samueli Theater on Saturday, August 3 at 12:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
Maverick Theater Opens CANNIBAL! THE MUSICAL Tonight

Directed by Curtis Jerome, with book, music and lyrics by Trey Parker, Cannibal! The Musical opens July 26th and runs through September 14th. Performances are 8:00 p.m. Fri. and Sat., 6:00 p.m. Sun. The Laguna Playhouse Executive and Artistic Directors, Karen Wood and Ann E. Wareham present its first special bonus offering of their 2013 season, BRITISHMANIA, a Beatles Tribute concert. 'We are about to rock out our Summer with BRITISHMANIA, one of the best Beatles tribute bands around,' offers Wood. 'How amazing to hear 35 Beatles classics performed authentically in just about two hours! Our audiences and Beatles fans will be in heaven,' adds Wareham. BRITISHMANIA will begin performances on Tuesday, August 13 and run through Sunday, August 25, 2013 at the Laguna Playhouse, 606 Laguna Canyon Road in Laguna Beach.

Segerstrom Center for the Arts' free Movie Mondays will now present Disney's Academy Award-nominated animated feature Mulan on July 22.Mulan replaces The Lion King, previously announced for this year's Movie Mondays. Celebrating the 15th year of its release, Mulan is based on a Chinese legend about the only daughter of an aged warrior. To protect him and to save their family's honor, the high-spirited heroine disguises herself as a man and takes her father's place in the army. Along with her guardian dragon Mushu, her captain, Li Shang, a lucky cricket, Cri-kee, and her companions, Yao, Ling, and Chien-Po, Mulan battles the invading Hun army. With characters voiced by Eddie Murphy, Ming-Na Wen and Harvey Fierstein, and featuring songs by Broadway stars Donny Osmond and Lea Salonga,Mulan is the uplifting tale of the strength and bravery that lies in all of us.

Enrollment applications are being accepted now for Segerstrom Center's Six Days of Broadway summer musical theater camp, which returns to the Center's campus June 24 through July 7. Students will participate in week-long intensives that feature classes in musical performance, monologue interpretation, audition technique, scene work, dance and more. Tony Award nominee and Broadway/film star Erin Dilly returns to lead the program along with Broadway veterans Stephen Buntrock, Danny Gurwin, Hank Stratton and other guest instructors.
