UCI Presents 'ABRAHAM AND ISAAC IN JERUSALEM', 9/29-10/2

PRESS RELEASE:

A modern take on an ancient tale-ABRAHAM AND ISAAC IN JERUSALEM-follows an American college troupe as it takes its medieval English-bible play and all-male choir to the holy city of Jerusalem, hoping to find common ground among the city's Arab and Jewish populations. This new play is written and directed by Robert Cohen, Claire Trevor Professor of Drama.

This World Premiere production features ancient Hebrew, Persian and English music sung by Men in Blaque, directed by Joseph Huszti, of the Claire Trevor School of the Arts music department.

Ticket holders are invited to an informal pre-show reception, complete with complimentary refreshments and entertainment by Men in Blaque at 7:40 p.m. prior to every show, on the stage of the Claire Trevor Theatre. 

PLEASE NOTE: There will be NO late seating, so please arrive in advance of the 8:00 p.m. curtain.  The audience is asked to stay after the play concludes to participate in a Talk-Back Session with the creative team and cast.

The World Premiere of ABRAHAM AND ISAAC IN JERUSALEM performs at UC Irvine's Claire Trevor School of the Arts, Claire Trevor Theatre on Sept. 29 & 30; Oct. 1 & 2. All shows start at 8 p.m., with Men in Blaque performing at 7:40 p.m.
