THE INTERGALACTIC NEMESIS Set for Segerstrom Center This Weekend

By:

Segerstrom Center's Family Series continues with the third and final installment of The Intergalactic Nemesis with the Orange County premiere of Twin Infinity - An Intergalactic Nemesis Live-Action Graphic Novel this weekend, March 21 & 22 in Samueli Theater. The sequel to the hit shows The Intergalactic Nemesis and Robot Planet Rising follows the adventures of Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter Molly Sloan and her fiance? Ben Wilcott in this period story set in 1942 as they fight against a secret society of spies that spans the globe. No previous Intergalactic experience is necessary.

The unique storytelling method makes The Intergalactic Nemesis mesmerizing. There are more than 1,000 hand-drawn, full-color, hi-resolution and intensely vivid comic book images displayed on a giant screen as three actors play all the parts and one Foley artist and one keyboardist perform all sound effects and music.

The Intergalactic Nemesis began as a radio play conceived by Ray Colgan, directed by Jason Neulander, with sound effects by Buzz Moran. It was produced by Salvage Vanguard Theater and performed and recorded in Little City, a downtown Austin coffeehouse, in 1996.

When The Intergalactic Nemesis Live-Action Graphic Novel premiered in 2010, more than 2,000 people turned out. Shortly after, it was featured on NPR's All Things Considered and CONAN. Since 2011, the first two productions of the trilogy have been performed in more than 100 venues around the world to audiences numbering in the tens of thousands.

Audiences are encouraged to arrive early, as each performance is preceded by an hour of free creative activities. The Center's Education and Community Programs Department offers these enriching experiences to provide young people and their parents more opportunities to play together creatively. Studies show that this is critical in helping to develop the ability to think and problem solve.

Twin Infinity - An Intergalactic Nemesis Live-Action Graphic Novel is recommended for families and children ages seven and older. Tickets start at $29 and are available online at SCFTA.org, at the Box Office at 600 Town Center Drive in Costa Mesa or by calling (714) 556-2787. For inquiries about group ticket savings for 10 or more, call the Group Services office at (714) 755-0236. The TTY number is (714) 556-2746. The performance on Sunday, March 22 at 12 p.m. will be sign-language interpreted. Segerstrom Center for the Arts applauds The Charles & Mildred Schnurmacher Foundation, Inc. for its support of the Family Series. Kia is the Official Automotive Partner of the Center and United Airlines is the Official Airline of the Center. Parenting OC is the Media Partner of the Family Series.
