Segerstrom Center for Arts has announced that its presentation of Stephen Sondheim: In Conversation has been rescheduled for Friday, July 13, 2012 at 8 p.m. in the Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall.

The theater icon will share anecdotes with host Michael A. Kerker of ASCAP. Broadway stars Christine Ebersole and Brian Stokes Mitchell will also return to perform Sondheim’s most beloved songs, accompanied by the show’s music director, Tedd Firth.

Sondheim makes few such personal appearances so this evening will be a once-in-alifetime opportunity for many audience members to hear this great artist in person along with some of the most celebrated Broadway artists of our time.

About the artist: Sondheim is one of the most important composer-lyricists in the world, and certainly one of the greatest artists to work in American musical theater over the past half-century. He has not only collaborated on more than a dozen landmark shows and written countless standard songs, but has also been the single most influential force in bringing the Broadway musical into the modern age. He has won every conceivable award: Kennedy Center Honors, a Pulitzer Prize, two Grammys, an Oscar
and eight Tonys, including a special award for Lifetime Achievement.

Ticket holders to the October performance are being contacted about the new date and will have priority to attend this new engagement.

Tickets start at $35 and are available online at SCFTA.org, by calling (714) 556-2787 or at the Box Office, located at 600 Town Center Drive in Costa Mesa.

For special group ticket discounts for 15 or more, call the Group Services office at (714) 755-0236. The TTY number is (714) 556-2746.
