Press Release:

RENT, Jonathan Larson's revolutionary rock opera and one of the longest running shows on Broadway hits the non-equity stage for the first time in Orange County.  The Maverick is the first storefront theatre to tackle this popular production and has spared no expense to pull it off.  If you happened to have seen the final tour of the Broadway production last year, then you owe yourself the experience of RENT in an intimate small theater; the way author intended it.

RENT is based on Puccini's classic opera La Bohème and tells the story of a group of impoverished young artists and musicians struggling to survive and create in New York's Lower East Side in the thriving days of Bohemian Alphabet City, under the shadow of AIDS. RENT is the winner of the 1996 Pulitzer Prize and the Tony Award for Best Musical.

RENT, directed by Curtis Jerome opens February 26th and runs through April 17th. Performs Friday and Saturday nights at 8:00 p.m., Saturday Matinees at 3:00 p.m., starting March 6th. Tickets for 8:00 p.m. shows are $25, Matinee $20. Students with a current ID are $15 for 8 p.m. shows and $10 for matinees.

Tickets may be purchased on line at www.mavericktheater.com or by calling 714-526-7070. The Maverick Theater is located at 110 E. Walnut, Fullerton, CA 92832, across from the Amtrak station in historic Downtown Fullerton.
