OCPA Presents DISCOVERIES at Newport Theatre Arts Center

The Orange County Playwrights Alliance (OCPA) presents its summer 2018 event: staged readings of two one-act plays by Lynn Wells Nelson and George Bardin Rothman.
About the Plays:
Fog
Written by Lynn Wells Nelson / Directed by Angela Cruz
What keeps you from traveling forward, stepping back or just moving on? Is it your family, your mind, or is it just fog?
A Love Story in Mi Playa
Written by George Bardin Rothman / Directed by Chris Mertan
Four residents of a beach town near Los Angeles become closely entangled. As they manage their private lives, secrets are revealed. This becomes a story about trust and about love. Featuring Daniel Camacho, Brendan Kane, Mitchell Nunn, Darcy Porter, and Jill Prout (stage directions).
For more than 20 years, Orange County Playwrights Alliance (OCPA) has provided writers the opportunity to explore their creativity in an intellectually safe environment by providing table readings and public presentations of members' work. Member playwrights have gone on to have their work nationally produced and published. OCPA additionally interacts with the theatre community to provide actors, directors, and audiences with entertaining and thought provoking theatrical work. Many works have been used as social tools to educate or enlighten the surrounding community. http://www.ocplaywrights.org/
Since 1979 the Newport Theatre Arts Center (NTAC) has been providing affordable, high quality plays in the finest community theater in Orange County. Our venue, located on a bluff with spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean, offers air-conditioned, comfortable seating. Every seat delivers a unique, cozy view of the show.
