A brand new musical based on Alan Katz’s 2024 bestselling Scholastic joke book. A cast of three. A rousing opening number. And then, a barrage of jokes, riddles, and funny stuff designed to get kids to laugh their heads off. Jokes like, "What's blue and not heavy? Light Blue"..."What do you call a rooster looking at lettuce? Chicken sees a salad."...and lots more! And along the way, there’s a message of kindness (letting kids know that it’s never okay to make jokes that hurt anyone’s feelings). And plenty of audience interaction. That’s The Joke Show, and it’ll make its world premiere on July 12...with two performances at the Legacy Theatre in Branford, Connecticut. (Alan Katz, a longtime writer for TV, including The Rosie O'Donnell Show, has written more than 50 funny books for kids, incluidng nine Silly Dilly songbooks, which were the basis for his Silly Dilly Musical. His son David, an Executive Producer for Stars in the House and currently playing Peter in the Off-Broadway musical Pinkalicious, is in the cast of The Joke Show.)
