Making Wildwood: The Craft of Stop-Motion Puppetry at Ballard Institute Theater

Guest moderator Allison Paul, a UConn Associate Professor of Illustration/Animation, talks with UConn Puppet Arts alum Maggie Flanagan about working in stop-motion animation. Flanagan shares insights from their time at LAIKA, where they worked on Wildwood, the longest stop-motion feature film to date, starting as a mold maker and silicone caster before joining the Puppet Hospital. The discussion covers the creative journey and practical skills behind the film's production. Refreshments will be served at this part of the 2026 Fall Puppet Forum Series.
