AS SEEN ON HBO! The first comedy troupe composed entirely of people with Aspergers Syndrome!Join Sea Tea Improv in welcoming this superstar comedy act to Hartford. Let's show them a big and welcoming crowd! 2 shows only- 4 pm and 7 pm this Saturday! Only 160 people will get to see this show- will you be one of them? This is a full sketch comedy show, followed by a Q&A afterward. As always, this will be appropriate for anyone who's started puberty.Asperger's Are Us has performed over 100 original absurdist sketch shows in nine countries since 2010. We do not poke fun at (or mention)Asperger's and we did not form to prove that autistic people can be funny. We formed for the same reason anyone does comedy: To make you laugh! Please do not expect us to be anything like the sitcoms about autism, or anything else that relies on making fun of people. Expect silly deadpan sketches that appeal to fans of Monty Python, Andy Kaufman, and The Weather Channel. The group starred in the Asperger's Are Us Documentary on Netflix about the troupe in late 2016. A follow-up, 'On Tour with Asperger's Are Us,' debuted on April 30, 2019 on HBO.==="Audiences dont usually know what to expect from Aspergers Are Us, a Boston sketch comedy troupe made up solely of artists on the autism spectrum. Will they use self-deprecating humor about life with Aspergers syndrome? Are they hoping to shed light on a serious condition? Will they be something like Sheldon, the socially inept character on CBSs 'The Big Bang Theory'?The answer, it turns out, is none of the above.Instead of focusing on the condition, the four men who make up the troupe perform skits and monologues that reflect their thoughts, perspectives and offbeat sensibilities, often characterized by deadpan and absurd humor... the guys are not looking for sympathy laughs or polite applause. Their show is not an autism awareness campaign, they say. They want people to laugh simply because theyre funny." - New York Times
