Music Theatre of Connecticut (MTC) MainStage, Fairfield County’s award-winning professional theatre company, concludes its 39th season with 9 to 5 The Musical, inspired by the iconic film of the same name, featuring music and lyrics by Dolly Parton. The production runs from April 17th through May 3rd, 2026 with performances on Fridays at 8pm, Saturdays at 2pm & 8pm, and Sundays at 2pm.
Set in the late 1970s, 9 to 5 The Musical is a hilarious story of friendship and revenge in the Rolodex era. It’s outrageous, thought-provoking and even a little romantic. Pushed to the boiling point, three female coworkers concoct a plan to get even with the sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot they call their boss. In a hilarious turn of events, they live out their wildest fantasy – giving their boss the boot! The women then give their workplace a dream makeover, taking control of the company that had always kept them down. Hey, a girl can scheme, can't she?
