Windham Theatre Guild presents live on stage The Wizard of Oz, by L. Frank Baum, opening tonight, July 20th at the Burton Leavitt Theatre, 779 Main Street, Willimantic.  This stage version has more of the storyline from the original book about Oz than the well known movie…but everyone's favorite characters are enchanting to watch…Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tinman, Lion, the Witches and the Wizard!  And don't forget the adorable Munchkins.

Directing The Wizard of Oz is WTG president Victor Funderburk. Musical Director is Ken Clark and Choreographer is Rachel Roccoberton-Griffin. The colorful land of Oz comes to life thanks to the Costume Designs by Debbie Warren and her Assistant Designer Suzette Butler.

The Wizard of Oz will be presented tonight, July 20 and July 21, 27, 28 and August 2, 3, & 4 at 7:30pm with Sunday Matinees on July 22 & 29 at 2:00pm.  Tickets are $20 for Adults, $17 for Students/Seniors, and $12 for children under 12.  UConn/ECSU/QVCC students are $12 with student ID.  Reserve tickets by calling 860-423-2245 or on-line at windhamtheatreguild.org.  Tickets are also available at the door.
