The Broadway Boys return to Westport on Sunday, February 12. The 4 p.m. benefit concert, made possible in part by Melissa and Doug Bernstein of Melissa and Doug Educational Toys, features material ranging in style from soul and gospel, to jazz and pop.

About the group: The Broadway Boys – tenors who perform hit show standards in a contemporary style, blending intricate harmonies with clever arrangements – was founded by Jesse Nager (MARY POPPINS), who also performs as one of the singers and is responsible for the vocal arrangements. The group features performers from such Broadway hits as MAMMA MIA!, WICKED, HAIR, SPRING AWAKENING, RENT.

Justin Paul, of song-writing duo Pasek & Paul (A CHRISTMAS STORY, EDGES), serves as Musical Director and pianist for The Boys. Paul says the Broadway Boys embrace “all musical styles. We reach out to the next generation, and always strive to be innovative in our arrangements and performances.”

Paul is very excited about returning to Westport. “It’s going to be a very special event,” he says of the concert that will play at Westport’s Staples High School. “I’ll be on keys, leading our phenomenal 4-piece band. I may even summon the courage to perform a couple of numbers myself!”

The Broadway Boys’ previous concert at Staples High School was a huge success and this one promises to be more of the same.

The February 12 performance benefits the Northeast Children’s Theatre Company (NCTC) and Staples Players, Westport’s award-winning high school theatre group.

NCTC, co-founded by Tyler Paul and Morgan Weitz, is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing professional theatre programming and educational outreach to children and their families throughout the Northeast.
