When an opera is Live in HD, it brings the cast closer through unique camera angles allowing the audience to experience the emotion. The behind-the-scenes tours of the Met with some of operas most stunning stars are another plus. On Sunday, October 12, at 12 noon, The Ridgefield Playhouse will present Verdi's masterpiece Macbeth with acclaimed soprano Anna Netrebko as Lady Macbeth and Željko Lu?i? as Macbeth. Ticket holders can also enjoy a special $45 prix-fixe dinner menu at Bernard's (20 West Lane, Ridgefield), or a free glass of wine with dinner, the day of this event when tickets are presented; reservations suggested.This event is underwritten by Jeanne Cook, Anita and Nicholas Donofrio, Liz and Steven Goldstone, Marilyn and Joe Kreitz, Joanne and John Patrick, Sabina and Walter Slavin, Taylor Zemo Foundation with support from The Ridgefield Press and Whistle Stop Bakery.

For the first time at the Met, star soprano Anna Netrebko delivers her searing portrayal of Lady Macbeth, the mad and murderous mate of Željko Lu?i?'s doomed Macbeth. Adrian Noble's chilling production of Verdi's masterful adaptation of Shakespeare's tragedy also stars Joseph Calleja as the noble Macduff and René Pape as Banquo. Fabio Luisi conducts.
