Pilbrow was voted one of the 50 most powerful people in the entertainment technology industry. The Royal National Theatre was one of Theatre Projects' earliest and most significant accomplishments. Mr. Pilbrow is a theatre, film and television producer, and an internationally known author and stage lighting designer who was chosen by Laurence Olivier to be lighting director and later theatre consultant to The National Theatre of Great Britain. Pilbrow founded Theatre Projects in London in 1957, The National Theater being one of his very first projects. Richard's efforts were instrumental in the $2.5 million renovation that gave life to the Ridgefield Playhouse. According to Benton Delinger, ASTC | Director Theatre Projects Consultants, Richard Pilbrow "...was very instrumental in getting The Playhouse built. Theatre Projects did an initial study which was the catalyst for what is today our wonderful center."
