Ridgefield Playhouse Screens Met Opera's LA BOHEME See the Metropolitan Opera's production of the world's most popular Opera, La Boheme, directed by the renowned Franco Zeffirelli, on the big screen in HD at The Ridgefield Playhouse, February 26

Enjoy the Metropolitan Opera from the best seats in Ridgefield! The world's most popular opera, Puccini's La Boheme, returns to the Met in Franco Zeffirelli's classic production, with an exciting cast! Sonya Yoncheva stars in the role of the fragile Mimì, with Michael Fabiano as the poet Rodolfo and Marco Armiliato conducting. See an encore presentation of La Boheme in HD on the big screen at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Monday, February 26th at 6pm, part of Benchmark Senior Living at Ridgefield Crossings Live in HD & Classical Series with support from The Ridgefield Press & Whistle Stop Bakery.

It's Paris, the 1830s. A Latin Quarter garret, and the near-destitute artist Marcello and poet Rodolfo try to keep warm on Christmas Eve by feeding the stove with pages from Rodolfo's latest drama... La Bohème, the passionate, timeless, and indelible story of love among young artists in Paris, can stake its claim as the world's most popular opera. It has a marvelous ability to make a powerful first impression, solicit strong emotions and to reveal unsuspected treasures after dozens of listenings. At first glance, La Boheme is the definitive depiction of the joys and sorrows of love and loss; but on closer inspection, it reveals the deep emotional significance hidden in the trivial things-a bonnet, an old overcoat, a chance meeting with a neighbor-that make up our everyday lives.

The Metropolitan Opera is a vibrant home for the most creative and talented singers, conductors, composers, musicians, stage directors, designers, visual artists, choreographers, and dancers from around the world.
