Ridgefield Hosts Celebrity Voice Coach Workshop

By:

Ridgefield Hosts Celebrity Voice Coach Workshop ImageHave you ever wondered what professional vocal training could do for your singing and/or performing voice? The Celebrity Voice Coach Workshop at The Ridgefield Playhouse, taught by international recording star Samantha Cole, offers students professional, private vocal coach techniques to take their vocal performances to the next level! Warm-ups, proper breathing, stage movement, mic technique, approach, songwriting and song choice are just some of the topics covered in this class. Cole has recorded and toured with several hitmakers including the Backstreet Boys, Shaggy, David Foster and Nile Rodgers. In addition to vocal coaching, Cole shares her experience in songwriting and studio recording, as well as how to navigate the music business. The program culminates in the CVC Platform Showcase on May 20th at The Ridgefield Playhouse, a two-hour show with a live band, featuring participants performing their original songs and covers. The six-week Celebrity Voice Coach Workshop takes place Wednesdays 7:15pm - 9:15pm from April 4 - May 9, part of the HamletHub Whole New You Series and partially underwritten by Adam Broderick Salon & Spa and Reliance Merchant Services.

Samantha Cole is a multi-talented singer, songwriter and performer turned vocal coach and talent manager. Cole was discovered by Universal Music's Doug Morris and Daniel Glass, and promptly signed to Universal Records. She co-wrote eight of the songs for her self-titled debut album, produced by an all-star team of hit-makers: David Foster, Nile Rodgers, Richard Marx and Rhett Lawrence. The album spawned the Top 40 single "Happy With You." The follow-up single, "Without You" (written by Cole and Foster), soared to #1 in Asia and was later covered by American Idol stars Kimberly Locke and Clay Aiken. She is also known for her top 5 global hit, "Luv Me Luv Me", on which she is featured with international superstar Shaggy. Cole has toured with Backstreet Boys, Shaggy and 98 Degrees and has collaborated with Boyz II Men, Robin Thicke, Diane Warren, Bon Jovi and Aerosmith songwriting teams, and more. She was also signed to EMI Publishing as a songwriter.

Cole prepares students throughout the year for vocal competitions such as "The Voice," "America's Got Talent," "American Idol," "The X Factor" and "The Four." She is also currently recording and producing some of her students' EPs and albums. With her connections and relationships in the music industry, Cole offers a unique background that is truly special and hard to find.
