On Monday, July 14th, Playhouse on Park is offering a master class called Vocal Coaching for Musical Theatre from 7 pm to 9 pm. This class will show students what to expect when asked to sing at a Broadway musical audition. Students should bring a book of music that they are comfortable singing, and will perform a song that they feel shows them at their best. The instructor will give each student feedback, and will conclude with a question and answer session.

Joel Newsome, the guest instructor, was seen on Broadway in the Tony Award winning revival of 42nd Street, as well as The Producers. He has also been in The Producers national tour, as well as the tour of Billy Elliot. Mr. Newsome was part of the original workshop for Rent at New York Theatre Workshop. Past regional credits include Goodspeed Opera House, Paper Mill Playhouse, and Caldwell Theatre Company. He is playing Vice Principal Panch in Playhouse on Park's The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Mr. Newsome is a member of the Actors Equity Association.

This class is for students ages 16 through adult. A $40 registration is required; class size is limited to 10 students and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. To register, please go to the Education page at www.playhouseonpark.org and print out the registration form, or call the box office at 860-523-5900 x10.
