Playhouse on Park is offering a special Young Professionals rate in conjunction with its Main Stage Series historical drama, Intimate Apparel, on February 17. Spend your Saturday evening mingling with other young professionals, then stay for a show! A pre-show networking reception will be held from 6:30-7:45pm, and the show begins at 8pm. The ticket price Young Professionals (ages 21-35) is just $20.

Relax with some hors d'oeuvres and unwind with a signature cocktail featuring Hartford Flavor Company's Wild Moon Spirits - all complimentary, of course. After the reception, kick back and enjoy Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Lynn Nottage's Intimate Apparel: In 1905, Esther, an African American seamstress, supports herself by creating exquisite lingerie for wealthy Manhattan clients. When a letter arrives from a stranger, it awakens a desire within her that leads to the love that she yearned for, but it is nothing like she expected. As described by playwright Paula Vogel, "Lynn Nottage's work explores depths of humanness, the overlapping complexties of race, gender, culture and history-and the startling simplicity of desire-with a clear tenderness, with humor, with compassion."

The purpose of the Young Professional Advisory Board is to provide increased representation of young professionals in the Greater Hartford arts community. YPAB members participate in initiatives unique to the group, Board of Directors sub-committees, as well as attend productions and events. The YPAB shared priority is to support the overall mission of the Playhouse by acting as ambassadors for the Playhouse in the Greater Hartford community. Members of YPAB have the opportunity to enrich the emerging Park Road and West Hartford arts communities while enhancing their own resumes, developing fundraising skills, and building their professional networks. For more information about the YPAB, contact co-chair Dan Deutsch at dandeutsch426@gmail.com.

Intimate Apparel runs through March 4, with tickets ranging from $30-$40. Let's Go Arts, Senior, and Student Discounts available. Box office: 860-523-5900 x10. www.playhouseonpark.org. Playhouse on Park is located at 244 Park Road, West Hartford, CT 06119.
