Pantochino Productions Announces Upcoming Theatre Camps

By:
Award-winning Pantochino Productions Inc., a professional, non profit theatre company specializing in family theatre, has announced its upcoming schedule of theatre camps for young actors. In addition to its April School Vacation Week Camp, the company will also present five weeks of Summer Theatre Camp in conjunction with the Milford Arts Council at the Center for the Arts in Downtown Milford.

In April, the company will present a five-day camp during school vacation week, April 13-17.

Throughout the week, young actors age seven to thirteen will learn, rehearse and perform a new musical based on the children's book "Rocko and Spanky Go To A Party" by local authors Kara & Jenna LaReau of Stratford. The camp will be held daily 9 am to 3 pm at Pantochino's studio space in the former St. Ann School, with the Friday performance taking place at the Center for the Arts.

The Summer schedule includes five sessions of theatre camp. Session One (July 13-17) features the mini-musical "Phantom Mouse of the Opera." Session Two (July 20-24) will create and perform "The Jungle Book, Abridged." For Session Three (July 27-31), Pantochino's award-winning musical "Cinderella Skeleton" will be featured. Session Four (August 3-7) will see a brand new musical, "Regally Blonde" come to life. The final session of camp is Pantochino's

original concept, "The Theatre Games" (August 10-14) where teams of young actors compete in a series of creative theatre challenges. All of the summer camps are held 9 am to 3 pm at the Center for the Arts in Milford.

The camps are staffed by Pantochino's producers Bert Bernardi and Jimmy Johansmeyer, along with musical director Justin Rugg. "Our theatre camps have been so popular because they're so much fun," said Bernardi. "The kids respond to the material and enjoy the bright, exciting atmosphere we create for them," he added. "We're not teachers," Johansmeyer explained, "We're working theatre professionals who love to share our experience with young people."

Tuition is $265. per week, with a special rate of $225. for siblings. Enrollment is limited to thirty per session and early registration is advised. Complete details along with registration forms are available online at www.pantochino.com.
