Palace Theater Hosts Winter Wonderland Family Fun Day Today
In an effort to accommodate the overwhelmingly positive response to the Palace Theater's "Winter Wonderland Family Fun Day" event today, Dec. 12, the theater has extended the event time from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The afternoon of holiday themed family activities was originally planned to end at 4 p.m., allowing a transition to the evening's previously scheduled adult-only "Rock the Rink" holiday party. As pre-registration for that event was not as enthusiastic, the decision was made to cancel "Rock the Rink" in favor of lengthening the family-friendly event time.
Ticket holders for "Rock the Rink" are being contacted by the box office and will be given the opportunity to receive a full refund, or exchange their tickets for admission to the afternoon's "Family Fun Day" activities, which include the opportunity to skate on the Palace stage. Other activities include photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, cupcake decorating with Hardcore Sweet Cupcakes; holiday craft stations; themed story time with the Literacy Volunteers of Greater Waterbury; hot chocolate; sweet treats; live holiday performances and more.
"Winter Wonderland Family Fun Day" is sponsored in part by MacDermid, Powerstation Events, and the Mayor's Council for Arts and Tourism. For more information, call the box office at 203-346-2000 or visit www.palacetheaterct.org.
The Palace's primary purpose is to revitalize the Greater Waterbury community through the presentation of the performing arts and educational initiatives in collaboration with area cultural and educational institutions. Its mission is to To preserve and operate the historic Palace Theater as a performing arts center and community gathering place that provides a focal point of cultural activity and educational outreach for diverse audiences.
