NYC Jazz Comes to Milford CT

The MAC and Pantochino Productions kick off their Nite Spot Night season with Svetlana and the Delancey Five on September 8th at 8pm! A critically acclaimed "outstanding & exceptional vocalist and songwriter" (Wall Street Journal) from New York, Svetlana Shmulyan is the energetic leader of the New York based swing band, The Delancey Five. Together, their show transports audiences into a carnival of sound, seamlessly moving from sophisticated and sultry retrospection to a rowdy joyous dance party.

The band has headlined sold out shows in premier venues and festivals across the US and internationally, gaining critical acclaim from audiences and press alike by presenting exhilarating shows that combine the charm of Svetlana's sultry swinging vocals, with the the excitement, power, and unpredictable improvisational aspects of her "little big band", the Delancey Five. The band has played in famous venues such as the Blue Note, Iridium, Joe's Pub, and the packed underground New York speakeasies. They have also led Times Square Swing Flash-mobs where crowds gyrate together to their jubilant playing!

The band has also appeared on various national and international TV programs (US Travel Channel, UK's Virgin Atlantic TV, Israel's iTV, Russian's My Planet, German's Channel 1, Japanese Travel TV, Brazilian Chicas of NY, and more) and has been featured in numerous international news and music and lifestyle publications (Huffington Post, All About Jazz, Wall Street Journal, PopWrapper, Broadway World, and more).

Nite Spot Nights are co-sponsored by Milford Arts Council and Pantochino Productions. An eclectic collection of unique musical performances, these revues feature Broadway's best and most popular tunes performed by top notch artists, bands, comedy, and more. Svetlana is the first show in a collection of musical performances by some the hottest stars of New York City's cabaret scene.

These 'night club' style evenings of live music come straight from NYC, and are presented in a cabaret style listening room at the MAC. "We are very excited to be working with Pantochino in welcoming such amazing talent to Milford. You no longer have to head to the city, we are bringing the city to you!" states executive director Paige Miglio. Bert Bernardi of Pantochino Productions explains, "The Nite Spot Nights series is a perfect compliment to our family theatre programming-we have entertainment options for everyone!"

All Nite Spot Nights are BYOEEE - Bring Your Own Everything Except the Entertainment. Wine, beer, soft drinks, and snacks are also available in the Speakeasy Lounge. The MAC has been called "the sweetest little theatre along the Connecticut shoreline." It is located in the heart of downtown Milford, easily accessible by car, bus, boat, foot, or train.
