Mike Jacobs Set for Playhouse on Park Benefit

By:

Come on out and laugh for a cause on Thursday, August 11, as Hartford's own funnyman Mike Jacobs takes the stage at Playhouse on Park. The show begins at 7:30 pm with a wine and cheese reception at 6:00 pm. All proceeds will benefit The Playhouse as it enters its Eighth Season in operation!

Mike Jacobs' edgy brand of autobiographical comedy traces its roots to the north end of Hartford, Connecticut where he was voted "funniest kid" in his 6th grade class along with "best legs" - but don't count on seeing them.

Feel the energy as Mike walks you up and down the mean streets of his very funny life, entailing stories that are hilarious, relevant and true. His outlook on life, liberty and the pursuit of a plane ride without a screaming kid will leave you coming back for more!

Mike has made his mark in various festivals including the prestigious Boston Comedy Festival, Caroline's Comedy Final Four, a laugh-off of NYC's TOP 64 comedians and the "Stand Up 360" NY Comedy Festival. He was also named "Top 40 Comics to Watch Over 40". Mike is a regular throughout the top clubs in NYC but can be seen anywhere where people like to laugh! He was featured in the prestigious "VENU MAGAZINE"(2012 May-June) where the author wrote: "I still get the same excitement and enthusiasm when I see a great comedian for the first time".

Mike is in his 4th year of opening for the legendary Richard Lewis (Curb Your Enthusiasm); from Zanies in Chicago to Cobbs Comedy in San Francisco the shows have been the same - SOLD OUT! Mr. Lewis recently said of Mike, "he is the greatest comic I have shared a stage with in 45 years."

Tickets are on sale now at $50 each, all seats reserved. Please call our box office at 860-523-5900 x10 for tickets. Visit www.playhouseonpark.org for more information.
