Reg Rogers, David Alan Grier and More Set for MY FAIR LADY in Concert 1/25 in New Haven

By:

My Fair Lady, the show that many consider the "perfect musical" had its premiere at the Shubert in 1956. Now, nearly 60 years later, this sparkling entertainment returns in concert form performed by an all-Yale cast, orchestra, and production team. Combining forces will be Alumni singers, actors, instrumentalists, directors, conductors, and designers who are Broadway professionals, alongside Yale students, faculty, and staff. All are giving their time and talent to bring My Fair Lady back to New Haven.

Performed by a company of Yalies past and present, this production of My Fair Lady will be led by Tony nominee Reg Rogers YSD '93 as Henry Higgins and Tony and Emmy winner David Alan Grier YSD '81 as Alfred P. Doolittle. Felicia Ricci '08 is Eliza Doolittle, and Hans Tester '82 plays Colonel Pickering. Bill Kux YSD '83 is the narrator, and the role of Freddy Eynesford Hill is being played by an undergraduate, Jeremy Weiss '15.

Rounding out the cast are Johnson Flucker '80, Nancy Hume '83 and an ensemble of students and recent alumni of the Shen Curriculum for Musical Theater. An orchestra of more than 50 undergraduate and graduate students, alumni, and faculty will take center stage, conducted by Broadway veteran Music Director David Loud '83. Marc Vietor '83 is directing the production, which is produced by Amber Edwards '82, who produced last season's smash hit Kiss Me, Kate In Concert, named by the Hartford Courant as one of the top theater events of 2013.
