Jorgensen Center Welcomes The Canadian Tenors, 2/25-26
By: Nicole Rosky
First came the Four Tenors, then the Latin Americans, and then the Irish. Now, claiming the North American identity in this friendly battle among male upper-range voices are the Canadian Tenors, coming to Jorgensen's Cabaret Series on Friday and Saturday, February 25 & 26, at 8 p.m. Audience members can enjoy casual fare and drinks, available for cash only, at their tables as they delight in one of Canada's most sought-after exports.
Who can ignore a tenor, from any land, and, well, when they come in packs of four...we're goners. These glorious tenors perform a blend of classical and contemporary pop in diverse and powerful styles that charm thousands, move mountains and raise untold monies for public television.Clifton Murray, Victor Micallef, Remigio Pereira and Fraser Walters move from powerful anthems to the most beautiful melodies in a unique repertoire sung not only in English and French, but also in Spanish and Italian, reflecting their multicultural heritage and establishing the group internationally. The Winnipeg Free Press calls them easy on the eyes and the ears.
