John Mock Presents His Unique Multimedia Maritime Concert On 8/30

By:

Renowned musician and photographer John Mock will present his unique multimedia maritime concert on Sunday, August 30 at 4 PM with John Mock: From the Shoreline.

Widely sought after as a composer, arranger and multi-instrumentalist, John Mock's work has taken him around the world. He has worked on stage and in the studio with such notable artists as the Dixie Chicks, James Taylor, Nanci Griffith, Maura O'Connell, Sylvia, Kathy Mattea and Mark O'Connor. Recently, John's focus has shifted to his career as a solo artist and photographer.

A native of Connecticut's eastern shore, John grew up on the ocean and often spent nights playing on the Long Island Sound ferry boat his father captained. From New England to Chincoteague to Ireland, the Atlantic's beautiful coastline and quaint villages, its wooden boats and whitewashed lighthouses, continue to inspire and inform John's art. He captures in music and in photographs the heritage of the sea.

"From The Shoreline" combines his music, performed on guitar, concertina and whistle, with his fine art photography of the scenes upon which the music is based. His casual narration and storytelling tie it all together and take audiences on a trip along the coasts of New England and Ireland.

Upcoming tour dates include a diverse array of venues along the East coast ranging from performing arts centers and maritime museums to the keeper's house at Absecon Lighthouse in Atlantic City, NJ. Please visit www.johnmock.com for more information on John Mock's concerts, recordings and photography.
