The Hartt School Presents Sing for the City on Sunday, October 16, at 3:00 PM at the St. Patrick-St. Anthony Church, 285 Church Street, Hartford. A suggested donation of $15 will be collected at the door.

The Hartt Choral Department, along with guest choruses, presents its annual Sing for the City fundraising concert. Hartt's choruses and conductors, Edward Bolkovac, Colin Britt, Carolina Flores, and Stuart Younse, will be joined by the Hartford Chorale Chamber Choir and the Glastonbury High School Choir, conducted by Hartt alumnus Ethan Nash, in this annual community fundraising event. All proceeds of this year's benefit go directly to the Sandwich Ministry of the Franciscan Center, which works to alleviate hunger for the homeless, unemployed, and underemployed.

Hartt's Vocal Studies Division, lead by Bolkovac, has raised more than $30,000 for charities such as the St. Vincent De Paul Society in recent years through this annual event.

The Hartt School is the comprehensive performing arts conservatory of the University of Hartford that offers innovative degree programs in music, dance, and theatre. Founded in 1920, Hartt has been an integral part of the University of Hartford since its charter merged the then Hartt School of Music, the Hartford Art School, and Hillyer College to create the University in 1957. 2010 markEd Hartt's 90th year of providing world class performing arts education to students in Greater-Hartford and around the world. With more than 400 concerts, recitals, plays, master classes, dance performances, and musical theatre productions a year, performance is central to Hartt's curriculum.
