Charles Grodin Coming to Ridgefield Playhouse, 4/21

Join iconic actor Charles Grodin as he makes us laugh sharing his own personal journey through show business at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Tuesday, April 21, at 7:30 p.m. He will tell it all as it actually happened demonstrating that real life is often more entertaining than fiction! The New York Times calls him "A first rate story teller". Newsweek raves that he is a "Natural born raconteur". For more than 50 years, the well-known actor, comedian, author, and former talk show host has been in the entertainment industry and has seen it all. One of his most famous roles was alongside Robert De Niro in the 1988 classic, Midnight Run. Grodin has earned Emmy and Golden Globe Awards alike. His stellar roles span a broad range of films including Roman Polanski's Rosemary's Baby (1968), The Heartbreak Kid, Catch-22 and the hits Heaven Can Wait, Taking Care of Business, Seems Like Old Times, The Great Muppet Caper, The Woman in Red, The Lonely Guy, Ishtar The Couch Trip and more. He is perhaps best known for his role as George Newton in the 1990s comedy franchise Beethoven, where he repeatedly had his face licked by a 200-pound St. Bernard. Charles Grodin was honored by the Connecticut Press Club with the Mark Twain Award for Humor (2014). He is starring along with Ben Stiller, Naomi Watts and Adam Driver in a new film coming out next month, While We're Young.
