Cabaret Seating And BYOB Offered For Jacques Brel The Wilton Playshop 2/18-2/26

By:

Starting February 18th the famous 1968 musical comes to the Wilton Playshop, showcasing the timeless music of one of the most successful singer-songwriters in history. A unique show, this month's X-Playshop production will feature the return of cabaret seating to The Playshop, and the audience is encouraged to Bring-Your-Own-Bottle!

Jacques Brel (1929-1978) was a prolific singer-songwriter born in Belgium who wrote countless songs about love and life, and all that comes with them. His music was written not just about the way he wished the world to be, but about the way it IS, leaving a sometimes subtle edge to many of his lyrics. Numerous performers have covered his music, including Frank Sinatra, David Bowie, John Denver, Rod McKuen, Ray Charles, and even Nirvana.

The show's writers, Eric Blau and Mort Schuman, translated a number songs from their original French (and some in Flemish) to create the show, leaving intact the lyrical complexity and subtlety as well as Brel's wonderful music.

Bring a bottle or two of wine and some cheese and come join us for a memorable evening of incredible music!

Open cabaret seating, BYOB. Limited reserved seating available on request.
