Brookfield Theatre for the Arts' BARE, a pop opera, with a book by Jon Hartmere, Jr. & Damon Intrabartolo, lyrics by Hartmere, music by Intrabartolo, directed & choreographed by Todd Santa Maria, musical director Joyce Flanagan
lighting design Beth Patrick, produced by Nicole Veach, Janice Gabriel & Desirae Carle.

Think of "Romeo & Juliet" as a musical or "High School Musical" as a tragedy and you begin to get close to "Bare". "Bare" is, at its heart, an operatic love story. With contemporary themes of bullying, personal identity and sexuality, it follows a group of high school seniors at a Catholic boarding school. As they struggle to come to terms with who they are, and who the world thinks they should be, they seek answers from their church, their friends, and ultimately, from within themselves. Its rich, vibrant score draws on many styles of contemporary music.
