All-Star Comedy Show Comes to The Warner

The Warner Theatre is excited to host an evening of comedy with Blue Boy Entertainment's ALL-STAR COMEDY SHOW starring Kareem Blue, Linda Belt, Darren Rivera and Peaches Rodriguez in the Warner's Nancy Marine Studio Theatre on Saturday, December 29 at 8 pm!

Kareem Blue is a former boxer turned comedian; an entertainer, actor and producer of his own comedy shows; and owner and operator of Blue Boy Entertainment. His boxing prowess gives him a unique way to deliver material. He reads the crowd as he would an opponent standing across the ring and is able to make split second decisions that will KO the crowd with laughter, bringing a whole new meaning to punchlines. Growing up in NYC, Kareem was faced with a vast array of adversity and managed to always look on the bright side and found humor in dark situations. Fast forward 30 years later, Kareem calls Bethlehem, CT his home and is producing local comedy shows in the area. Kareem was runner up in New England's Funniest Comic at Mohegan Sun.

Linda Belt is a New Jersey native (a comedy routine in itself). She moved to CT in 1987 where she became a suburban pillar of the community attending PTO meetings and baseball games. Linda became very tired holding up that pillar and instead holds her own as a professional stand-up comic. Her humor touches on the absurdities of modern life and explores marriage, sex, parenting and social mores, in other words: any subject she feels like discussing! Linda has performed throughout the US and Canada and has been featured in a number of comedy festivals. Linda was profiled in the Hartford Courant, The Chicago Tribune and The New Jersey Star Ledger. She has appeared on affiliates of NBC and ABC as well as PBS.

Darren Rivera "The RicenBean Joker" has been entertaining crowds from all around the US for the last 17 years. His witty and sarcastic delivery has the audience in stitches always wanting more! Born in the Bronx, raised in the suburbs of Pennsylvania and starting his career in New England has given him and his observations a twist to everyday life. Darren is a runner up at Last Comix Standing at Mohegan Sun and is a regular at Mohegan Sun, clubs and colleges.

Peaches Rodriguez is a nationally touring comic, and regularly performs in Atlantic City and Las Vegas. She has opened for Arsenio Hall at Caesars Palace, shared the stage with Jerry Seinfeld at Gotham Comedy Club, appeared on CBS's "Paula Abdul Dance Show: Live to Dance", headlined at Caroline's Comedy Club, hosted the world's largest dance battle in Times Square and very recently danced in a video for Elton John's Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour! Peaches was honored to have spoken at Yale University's "Women in Comedy" panel in 2016. Peaches is a firecracker guaranteed to make the crowd explode with laughter!

Built by Warner Brothers Studios and opened in 1931 as a movie palace (1,772 seats), the Warner Theatre was described then as "Connecticut's Most Beautiful Theatre." Damaged extensively in a flood, the Warner was slated for demolition in the early 1980s until the non-profit Northwest Connecticut Association for the Arts (NCAA) was founded and purchased the theatre. The Warner reopened as a performing arts center in 1983, and restoration of the main lobbies and auditorium was completed in November 2002. In 2008, the new 50,000 square foot Carole and Ray Neag Performing Arts Center, which houses a 300 seat Studio Theatre, 200 seat restaurant and expansive school for the arts, was completed. Today, the Warner is in operation year-round with more than 160 performances and 100,000 patrons passing through its doors each season. Over 10,000 students, pre K-adult, participate in arts education programs and classes. Together, with the support of the community, the Warner has raised close to $17 million to revitalize its facilities. NCAA's mission is to preserve the Warner Theatre as an historic landmark, enhance its reputation as a center of artistic excellence and a focal point of community involvement, and satisfy the diverse cultural needs of the region.
