The Columbus Symphony Debuts New SUMMER NIGHT MUSIC Concert Series

The Columbus Symphony is thrilled to introduce a new summer series of indoor classical concerts titled Summer Night Music. The three-concert series will offer a repertoire of light classical works at the Southern Theatre and Worthington's McConnell Arts Center.

The schedule is as follows:

A Summer Serenade with the winds of the Columbus Symphony

Friday, July 7, 8pm

Program:

Mozart: The Marriage of Figaro Suite

Stravinsky: Octet

Dvo?ák: Serenade for Winds

In partnership with the McConnell Arts Center, OSU Director of University Bands Russ Mikkelson leads the wind players of the Columbus Symphony in the rare opportunity to hear the colorful section as a stand-alone ensemble.

Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door on the night of the show. Tickets go on sale on Monday, May 8, and can be purchased by phone at 614.431.0329 or online at mcconnellarts.org.

The strings of the Columbus Symphony perform one of Mozart's most popular and whimsical works in an unforgettable evening that showcases the ensemble's strength and skill as they perform conductorless.

Columbus Symphony Music Director Rossen Milanov closes the inaugural season of Summer Night Music with an all-Mozart concert, featuring his intensely emotional Symphony No. 40 and the Columbus Symphony debut of local pianist and Capital University professor Orlay Alonso.
