Ember Women's Theatre's production of Steel Magnolias by Robert Harling will take place Fridays and Saturdays, November 3rd - 11th 2017, at MadLab Theatre, 227 N. 3rd St, in Columbus. Admission is $20 for all patrons. Tickets are available online at www.madlab.net.

Gathering in Truvy's carport beauty salon, the women of Chinquapin, Louisiana swap recipes, jabs, and advice. Some, like the sharp-witted Clairee and the harsh Ousier, have lived in the town their whole lives. Others are new (recently hired salon stylist Annelle) or moving on (the blushing bride Shelby). Together, with stoic matriarch M'Lynn, these six women navigate life, marriage, death, and a particularly horrific armadillo cake. Equal turns hilarious and touching, Steel Magnolias is an eternal classic.

Ember Women's Theatre's production of Steel Magnolias is directed collaboratively by the cast, led by Michelle Batt, stage managed by Angela Cutrell, assisted by Michael Trakas, and featuring Vicki Kessler as Truvy, Cat McAlpine as Annelle, Melissa Bair as Clairee, Kathryn Miller as Shelby, Jennifer Barlup as M'Lynn, and Michelle Batt as Ousier.

This is Ember Women's Theatre's inaugural production. Founded by Michelle Batt and Melissa Bair, the group's mission is to produce published or original works that focus on the strength and perseverance of women through strong female characters.
