SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE will perform in Bogota at the Teatro Colon now through August 27. The play is produced by Sonia Friedman Productions and Disney Theatrical Productions, and co-produced by Teatro Colon and TuBoleta.

It is based on the 1998 film of the same name with a screenplay by Marc Norman and Tom Stoppard. It was adapted for the stage by Lee Hall with music by Paddy Cuneen. The original film won the 1999 Oscar for Best Picture.

The show follows Shakespeare as he tries to overcome a bout of writer's block, with the deadline for his next play fast approaching. He is in need of a muse when he meets Viola, one of his biggest fans who would do anything to act in his next play. With a backdrop of mistaken identities and scheming, Will's love for Viola inspires him to write his next masterpiece.

The show is directed by Diego León Hoyos, and the cast includes Nicolás Montero, Carolina Ramírez, Kepa Amuchástegui, Carmenza Gómez, Jairo Camargo, Gloria Gómez, Andrés Suárez, Álvaro Bayona, Mario Duarte, Carlos Gutiérrez, Andrés Mejía, Jimmy Rangel, and Miguel González.
