The Women's Committee of The Cleveland Orchestra Presents THE LEGACY OF LEV ARONSON Tonight
The Women's Committee of The Cleveland Orchestra is proud to present their summer benefit, "The Legacy of Lev Aronson", with Cleveland Orchestra Cellist Brian Thornton . This exciting benefit will be held tonight, August the 13th, 2014 at The Mayfield Sand Ridge Club in South Euclid.
There will be a Reception at 5:30, a Performance at 6:30 and Dinner at 7:30
Ticket levels : $150, $250, $500
This program, featuring exquisite works by concert cellist Lev Aronson, was written and will be performed by Brian Thornton as a powerful and passionate tribute to the brilliant teacher who was his mentor for so many years.
" As a young burgeoning cello soloist in Latvia during the 1930's and 1940's, Lev Aronson, a Jew, was forced to survive in concentration camps during the German occupation of Latvia. After spending time in several concentration camps he escaped, immigrated to America, established himself anew as a concert cellist and eventually became a highly influential cello instructor. "
