Psychological Illusionist Joshua Seth returns to Playhouse Square

Say the name "Joshua Seth" and many Kent, OH residents will tell you that he is the hometown boy who made good in the entertainment world, while adult fans of animation will say Joshua is best known as the villainous voice of Tetsuo, the starring role in the animated masterpiece, Akira (2001). (He also voiced the evil Young Knives in Trigun and the heroic Elk in Arc the Lad.) On the other hand, Playhouse Square theatergoers will tell you that Joshua Seth is the amazing psychological illusionist who has entertained them with his one-man show "Beyond Belief".

Now Joshua Seth returns to Playhouse Square for one 7:30 pm show, Sat., February 9 at the Ohio Theatre. Winner of the Magic Olympics at Hollywood's famous Magic Castle, Joshua's acclaimed psychological illusion show combines mind reading, clean comedy and good old-fashioned showmanship to create a highly interactive, genuinely amazing and flat-out funny evening of laughter and mystery unlike any other show touring the country today.

As a real-life mentalist and author of the best-selling book Finding Focus in a Busy World, Joshua presents his shows and/or keynote speeches at more than 100 meetings and events annually. He's performed at more than 2000 live events, starred in four of his own international TV specials, and performed in 40 countries.

As noted, Joshua is the voice of some of the most popular Anime characters of all time and has been heard on more than 65 animated TV series and movies as well as hundreds of commercials and literally thousands of promos. His unique voice caught the attention of casting directors back in the late '90s, and he soon became one of the busiest voice-over actors in Hollywood.

Millions of kids grew up listening to Joshua as the starring role of Tai, the leader of the Digimon, in Digimon: The Movie, as well as on the wildly successful daily cartoon series on the Fox network. He soon followed that success as the starring voice of Shobu on Cartoon Network's Dual Masters.

Other starring animation roles include: Cyborg Soldier 009 on the Cartoon Network show of the same name, Spencer on the hit ABC Family show Tokyo Pig, and Hige on Cartoon Network's Wolf's Rain, as well as Sparky on Nickelodeon's Speed Racer.

Joshua is also the voice behind hundreds of commercials, plus the voice of Tower Records and nationwide on numerous ads for Disneyland, America Online, Mountain Dew, Coors Light, Pacific Bell, Ford, Universal Studios, Verizon, 7-11, Mitsubishi, and Taco Bell, to name but a few. As a promo announcer, Joshua was the voice of the Kids WB Saturday morning programming block, the Kids WB's Aftertoons Show block, and the Saturdays: Unleashed block on the WB.
