Pamela DiPasquale Named Education Director at The Cleveland Play House

By:

The Cleveland Play House is pleased to announce that Pamela DiPasquale has been selected as the Education Director. DiPasquale comes to Cleveland from Kentucky Shakespeare Festival in Louisville, KY where she served as Education Director since 2006. She will lead the theatre's education department and be responsible for all educational programming and student performances.

"Pamela has done an outstanding work at Kentucky Shakes," said Play House Artistic Director Michael Bloom. "She will be a great fit at The Play House."

DiPasquale served as Education Director of Kentucky Shakespeare Festival's award-winning educational outreach program, Will on Wheels, which serves over 65,000 students annually in a tri-state area. She had full responsibility for the theatre's extensive educational outreach program offerings, including Shakespeare Youth Academy, Shakespeare's Studio, Shakespeare Alive!, and From the Page to The Stage. While there, she worked in partnership with the National and State Department of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Program to provide a theatre-in-education program for incarcerated youth. Additionally, DiPasquale successfully developed, funded and implemented a training institute for rural theatre artists wanting to share their craft in the classroom.

In her career, DiPasquale has developed the artistic and educational vision of Children's Theatre of Maine, where she served as Artistic Director. She founded City Shakespeare, a theatre company that provides free programming for low-income children and teens in an urban environment. DiPasquale served as an Adjunct Professor in the School of Education at Bellarmine University in Louisville, KY. She has presented at both state and national conferences on topics related to theatre education and community building.

DiPasquale received her undergraduate degree from Boston College and her Master of Arts from Emerson College in Boston, MA. She recently received a Graduate Certificate in Out of School Time Learning from John Hopkins University.

Founded in 1915, The Cleveland Play House is America's first regional theatre. More than 12 million people have attended over 1,300 productions at The Play House - including more than 130 American and/or World Premieres. Today, under the leadership of Artistic Director Michael Bloom and Managing Director Kevin Moore, The Cleveland Play House is an artist-driven theatre that serves the Greater Cleveland community by holding true to its mission: To inspire, stimulate and entertain diverse audiences in Northeast Ohio by producing plays and theatre education programs of the highest professional standards.

The Cleveland Play House is funded through the generosity of Cuyahoga County residents through Cuyahoga Arts and Culture, and The Ohio Arts Council which helps to fund The Cleveland Play House with state tax dollars to encourage economic growth, educational excellence and cultural enrichment for all Ohioans.
